Mission Connections coordinates programs designed to respond to needs identified by local communities and partner organizations in Guatemala.

Medical Care
Volunteer physicians, nurses, advanced-practice clinicians, medical students, interpreters, and other team members provide primary care, health education, preventive services, and referrals to surgical specialists.

Surgical Care
Volunteer surgical teams work with local hospitals and healthcare professionals to provide medically necessary procedures for patients who may otherwise have limited access to specialty care. These teams generally include general surgeons, gynecologists, anesthesiology personnel, nurses, and support volunteers.

Health Education and Training
Mission Connections supports education for patients, communities, medical students, and healthcare professionals. These programs strengthen local knowledge while helping develop future healthcare leaders.

Clean Water and Improved Cooking Technology
Teams help provide Ecofiltro water-purification systems and Chispa improved wood-burning cookstoves. These projects are designed to reduce exposure to unsafe water and indoor cooking smoke while improving daily life for participating families.

Education and Community Development
Mission Connections partners with schools, churches, and community organizations on projects that address locally identified educational, infrastructure, and quality-of-life needs.

Guatemala
Our principal work currently takes place in Guatemala, where long-standing relationships with hospitals, clinics, churches, schools, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders guide our programs.

Rather than arriving with predetermined solutions, we listen first. Local partners help identify priorities, plan projects, coordinate services, and continue supporting their communities after volunteer teams return home.

Northeast Texas
Mission Connections is also developing initiatives intended to improve access to healthcare in underserved areas of Northeast Texas. These emerging projects reflect the same commitment to partnership, dignity, and community-based problem solving that guides our international work.
